Description
Stroke is the sudden onset of neurological symptoms caused by cerebral ischemia (ischemic stroke) or hemorrhage (hemorrhagic stroke). The symptoms include sudden numbness or weakness (usually on one side of the body), visual impairment, loss of balance or coordination, and difficulty speaking or comprehending speech. The best way to treat stroke is to prevent it from happening, and, barring that, to dissolve the clot causing the ischemic stroke, or to stop the bleeding causing the hemorrhagic stroke. This suite will provide you with the background you need to understand the different types of strokes in the brain and how they can be treated.
