Description
The visual pathway is an intricate and elegant system that detects and processes light and then converts it into electrical signals that ultimately form visual images. In the Ophthalmology Anatomy Course, the overall organization of the eye and the many cell types responsible for image generation are described. The Physiology Course describes the process of refraction and introduces the chemical reactions that occur in the rods and cones to generate the nerve impulses transmitted to the occipital cortex.
